Description
Straight outta Tokyo, The 5.6.7.8’s mix it up with a wild cocktail of rockabilly vibes, garage rock grit, and punk punch.
To celebrate their upcoming Aus tour, Cheersquad Records & Tapes present ‘Best Hits of The 5.6.7.8’s’ featuring 14 blistering tracks from across their career.
Kickin’ off in ’86, sisters Yoshiko “Ronnie” Fujiyama and Sachiko have been the beating heart of this outfit. For this tour, they’re bringing along their long-time friend Akiko Omo on bass, keeping the lineup fresh and the music rockin’.
Their name's snagged from classic music counts, but these gals ain't just about numbers. They're smashin' language barriers with their killer mix of English and Japanese tunes, paying a rad tribute to the golden era of '50s and '60s American rock, '60s British rock, and Japanese Showa music, all while channeling the raw, rebellious energy of '70s punk. Remember Kill Bill Vol. 1? Who could forget The 5.6.7.8's and their electrifying "Woo Hoo" that set the world on fire? Yep, Quentin Tarantino himself gave them the nod, catapultin' them onto the global stage and straight into the hearts of rock and indie fans.
Featuring artwork by Shag, ‘Best Hits of The 5.6.7.8’s’ is available for pre-order now and will be released on 14 March 2025. The album is available in 5 different vinyl colours, opaque powder pink (100 only), opaque purple (100 only), translucent orange (100 only), opaque white (100 only) and traditional black. It will also be available digitally.
The 5.6.7.8’s are like a turbocharged time machine, blastin’ back to the sweet sounds of yesteryear while pushing the envelope with innovative jams.
