Released in 1989, this album solidified Pop Will Eat Itself's place in the music scene and remains a significant milestone in their discography.

From the opening track, "Ich bin ein Ausländer," it becomes evident that Pop Will Eat Itself is not afraid to experiment with different genres and push boundaries. The song's infectious blend of electronic beats, distorted guitars, and politically charged lyrics sets the tone for the rest of the album. The band's ability to seamlessly fuse elements of rock, dance, and rap creates a sound that is both energetic and thought-provoking.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "Def Con One," a song that perfectly encapsulates the band's unique style. The lyrics, which touch on themes of nuclear war and societal decay, add a layer of depth to the track, making it more than just a catchy tune.

Another notable track is "Wise Up! Sucker," a song that showcases the band's ability to create infectious dance beats while still maintaining their alternative edge. The combination of electronic samples, funky basslines, and catchy choruses make this track an instant crowd-pleaser.
