Where is Funky Duck Vinyl based?

Funky Duck Vinyl is an online record store based in Kensington, Melbourne, Australia.

 

Do you have a physical store/Can I come in and browse?

No unfortunately as of yet I don’t have a physical bricks and mortar store (although hopefully this will change in the near future, please buy big and support me now so I can make this dream a reality). I run Funky Duck out of my garage and so you can’t come in to browse, you will need to search for the records you want online. You can come past to pick up your orders that you have placed online, or if you want to come past and you know what you want we can do the transaction in real life, however I only accept cash when doing this as I do not have a credit card machine on site. If you are coming past to pick up an order or to place an order, please make sure you contact me to arrange a time.

 

Are the items I see online in stock?

Yes, except for the items in the Backorder category or in very rare cases, everything you see on the online shop that is purchasable (has an add to cart button on the product page) is what we have in stock and can be shipped to you next business day. Out of stock items are set to disappear once they are sold out, as there is no mechanism to be able to back order them once sold out, or no guarantee we will be able to restock that item any time soon.

 

What shipping options do you offer?

For over 100 Melbourne suburbs we offer Same Day Delivery, and for 50+ more suburbs we offer next day and 2-5 day delivery. These options are offered on a sliding scale of prices, so the further away you are from our Melbourne store (based in Kensington) and the quicker you want it the more you pay. Prices range from $0 – 12.50. See all the eligible suburbs and prices here. All deliveries are hand delivered by yours truly. To select this option please select either Same Day Delivery, Next Day Delivery or 2 – 5 Day Delivery in the shipping options at checkout. DO NOT Select Vinyl Shipping(Sendle/Aus Post) as this is the standard parcel shipping for all of Australia. 

For the rest of Australia, we offer both standard shipping and express post. Standard shipping is normally sent with Sendle (Couriers Please/Fastway Couriers) as I have found this to be the quickest way to get your records to you. If Sendle doesn’t deliver to your area then I will send with Australia Post. If you would like your order sent with Aus Post instead of Sendle please leave a note in your order and I will be happy to oblige. For this option please select Vinyl Shipping (Sendle/Aus Post). Standard Shipping is $10 for all orders under $125 and Free for all orders $125 and over. You can also select Express Shipping to get your order sent Express Parcel Post with Australia Post which is $15 for all orders under $125 and $5 for all orders $125+

Local Pickup: You can pick you up your order from Kensington in Melbourne for free. When selecting this option please wait for an email confirming that your order is ready for pickup and then you will need to arrange a time to pick it up. Please remember we don’t have a shop front where you can come in and browse so please don’t just rock up whenever you want expecting to be able to pick up your order that you placed 5 minutes ago.

International Shipping: I’m pleased to offer shipping to almost all countries worldwide, please note though due to corona virus and increasing volatile situations in certain parts of the world that certain countries may suddenly become unavailable to ship to. 

 

I’m looking for an album that you don’t have listed, can you help?

I certainly can! Send an email to info@funkyduckvinyl.com with a list of what records you are looking for and I will do my best to track them down and stock them for you. Please note due to the increased demand for vinyl over the last couple of years, and certain demands from Record Labels to prioritise certain new vinyl releases (I’m looking at you Adele!), many titles are taking 6 – 12 months to be repressed and restocked.

 

How will my item be shipped?

For Mailed Orders: I put a lot of time, love and care in to packing your order with the best protective packaging to ensure that your records arrive safely. Your records are first bubble wrapped to cover every inch of your record and then place in stiff cardboard mailers with a “crushable” zone so that even if your package is dropped the damage should be limited to the packaging, keeping your records safe and intact. Fragile Stickers are also placed on the package to remind the posty to be careful with your order and to not leave it out in the sun!

For Melbourne Same/Next/2-5 Day Delivery: Your records are placed in a recycled paper bag and then driven by me straight to your doorstep. I always try and leave it somewhere safe, and most importantly out of the sun. If you don’t want your order left if you’re not home please leave a note on your order at checkout. 

 

When I Buy Vinyl OnlineWill my item have tracking?

All mailed orders are tracked, you should receive a notification from the shipping company with your tracking details (please also check your junk folder). If you don’t receive such an email please email me at info@funkyduckvinyl.com and I’ll send through your tracking number.

 

When will I receive my order?

Almost all orders are sent next business day. For a list of estimated delivery times please click here.

 

What if my item arrives damaged?

If your item arrives damaged please DO NOT throw out any of the packaging or any part of your order. Contact me at info@funkyduckvinyl.com with all the details, including photos of the damage. Damaged records will be replaced but you will most likely need to send back the damaged record to receive a replacement (at my expense). If the product is out of stock, you will be given the option of choosing a new record, receiving a refund or waiting for a new copy of the same record to come back in to stock. The replacement record will be resent to you at my expense.

 

Are the prices shown inclusive of GST?

All prices shown throughout the website are inclusive of GST.

 

Can I make changes to an order I’ve already placed?

Yes! As long as you contact me before the order is shipped, I’ll be happy to change or cancel your order for no extra charge.

 

Do you sell gift vouchers?

Yes! You can purchase gift vouchers for friends, family or loved ones by clicking here or by clicking on the little gift icon between the search and cart icons on the top black bar (only visible on desktop devices sorry)

 

I signed up for the Newsletter but haven't received any emails?

Make sure you check your junk email folder for any of our emails, including newsletters and the welcome email which will contain your $15 voucher. If you still can't find the email please email me at info@funkyduckvinyl.com

Can anyone buy Alcohol?

Definitely not! You must be 18 years or older to purchase alcohol and ID may be required when your order is delivered. Due to strict licencing conditions alcohol can only be purchased when also purchasing vinyl records and can only be delivered. This means you cannot select local pick up when purchasing a vinyl & alcohol order.

Can I trust Funky Duck Vinyl?

Absolutely! I am 100% committed to providing unparalleled service and complete customer satisfaction. You can see all our reviews collated from Facebook, Google and Ebay on our reviews page, as well as on any of the aforementioned platforms. If you still have your doubts then I highly recommend paying for your purchase with PayPal. PayPal offer buyer protection, meaning if something goes wrong with your order and I don't play ball, or you don't receive your order, then they will give you a complete refund and chase me down for the money, giving you complete peace of mind!
