This album is not just a collection of songs; it’s a celebration of her musical journey and a testament to her enduring legacy.
The album features a mix of original songs and covers, with standout tracks that highlight Parton’s unique voice and songwriting prowess. One of the most talked-about songs is her rendition of the classic "Stairway to Heaven," which has received praise for its emotional depth and Parton’s ability to infuse her own style into such an iconic piece. Another highlight is "World on Fire," an original track that addresses contemporary issues with Parton’s signature blend of hope and resilience. The album also includes collaborations with a star-studded lineup, including artists like Brandi Carlile, Chris Stapleton, and even a surprise appearance by Paul McCartney, which adds to the album's appeal.
Critically, "Rockstar" has been well-received, with major publications like Rolling Stone and Billboard praising Parton’s bold move into rock music. Critics have noted that while the album pays homage to rock legends, it remains distinctly Dolly, with her storytelling and heartfelt lyrics shining through.
