Description
Late arvo tidy with the windows open suits Jimmy Buffett’s Living And Dying In 3/4 Time perfectly, easygoing but quietly sharp. His 1974 set balances road-worn folk and coastal country; on Come Monday, the pedal steel sighs under the chorus, while Pencil Thin Mustache swings with wry, jukebox detail. The Ballad of Spider John closes in a storyteller’s hush, proof there’s more here than beaches and blenders.
This LP pressing opens a little more room around the acoustics and the low end sits deeper, so the rhythm section feels unhurried rather than sleepy. Vocals sit forward in the image without getting brittle. It belongs alongside Jerry Jeff Walker and early-70s California country-rock, all song-first and lightly salted.
If you’d rather order from home, you can buy Jimmy Buffett records online with us. You’ll get the classic cover art done right and a sequence that flows the way it was meant to, from porch-swing nostalgia to highway reflection.
For anyone who came in via later Parrothead lore, this is the leaner, songwriter-forward Buffett, still chasing stories as much as sun. A reliable companion for small gatherings or a solo drive, and a surprisingly sturdy re-listen if you grew up with it.
Available online now or in our Melbourne shop, an easy pick for any Jimmy Buffett fan.
