Description

A clipped snare rush that snaps into brief silence in Loading hints at how James Blake rebuilds his club DNA on Playing Robots Into Heaven. Across this LP he swerves back toward system music, with weighty subs, nervy percussion, and his voice treated like another fader on the desk. Big Hammer lurches with a ragga-chopped hook and a kick that thumps like a body check. On If You Can Hear Me, he clears the room to an eerie chorale, a small mercy before the pressure tightens again. This pressing lets the low end sit deeper and opens the imaging so hi-hats skitter without smearing. You’ll want it shelved next to Burial, but Blake’s focus on playable structure over pure fog gives it a different snap. If you’d rather order online, you can buy James Blake records online with us. For a late apartment listen, the percussive lattice stays articulate at modest volume. Artwork keeps the machine-meets-spirit theme tidy without fuss. Quietly confident, this is Blake leaning back toward the basement while keeping the lights just bright enough for the keys.
