Description
The bark DMX slips between bars on 4,3,2,1 makes the cipher feel hotter, and LL answers with a tighter scowl. Phenomenon catches LL Cool J balancing glossy radio hooks and Queens-bred chest-out bars in 1997. The title track cruises on a Bill Withers loop, all Hitmen sparkle under LL’s deadpan cool. Father flips George Michael into a rueful confession, one of his cleaner crossover moves. Pressed across 2LP, the low end sits deeper and the space around those late-90s snares finally opens up. File it next to the Bad Boy shiny-suit moment and, yes, a touch of Biggie’s Life After Death scale, while still being very LL. If you’d rather order online, you can buy LL Cool J records online with us. Heads know 4,3,2,1 is the alley-oop: Method Man and Redman slide, DMX growls, and LL keeps control of the ring. Sequencing breathes more across two discs, so the pop cuts and the cipher joints stop stepping on each other. Great party ammo or a Sunday tidy soundtrack, with enough bite to keep you from dusting the same shelf twice. Available online now or in our Melbourne shop, an easy pick for any LL Cool J fan.
