Description
Harland’s quick snare pickup in Travelers nudges the quartet into a higher gear. Aaron Parks’ Invisible Cinema gathers Mike Moreno, Matt Penman, and Eric Harland for a cinematic, song-forward Blue Note debut. Peaceful Warrior balances luminous guitar voicings with a darting piano motif, while Nemesis tightens the screws with a tense ostinato. Spread across 2LP, the music breathes with more space, and the low end sits deeper. It sits neatly beside early Robert Glasper, though Parks leans harder into melody and mood than showy runs. If you’d rather order online, you can buy Aaron Parks records online with us. Themes are concise, grooves stay focused, and the band leaves just enough air for details to speak. Moreno’s chiming harmonics and Penman’s grounded lines keep the cinematic tag honest without tipping into fusion gloss. You can live with this as late-night atmosphere, yet it rewards a front-to-back play with real narrative flow. Travelers’ theme blooms like a film cue, ebbing over Harland’s restless ride and Moreno’s glassy chords. Penman slips a singing counterline through Peaceful Warrior that sticks in your head long after. Shop online or dig for it in our Preston store while stock lasts.
