This album marks a significant point in Lauv's career, as it is his debut studio album, following the success of his compilation album "I Met You When I Was 18 (The Playlist)."

"How I'm Feeling" is an ambitious project, featuring 21 tracks that delve into various aspects of Lauv's identity and emotional experiences. The album is notable for its candid exploration of themes such as love, loneliness, and mental health, topics that Lauv has been very open about in his personal life, particularly discussing his struggles with depression and anxiety. This personal touch adds a layer of authenticity and relatability to the album, making it resonate with a wide audience.

The collaboration with BTS on "Who" is particularly noteworthy, as it bridges Lauv's emotive pop style with BTS's dynamic sound, creating a poignant and memorable track that appeals to fans of both artists.

The production of the album is another highlight, with Lauv taking a hands-on approach. He is known for his DIY ethic in music production, often working in his home studio.
