Description
Third album from Andrew Whiteman’s Apostle of Hustle, Eats Darkness trims the jams into quick bursts, splicing in voice fragments and tape texture. Eazy Speaks snaps from a palm‑muted riff into a taut chant, and Xers of the World rides a wiry groove that flips from tension to release in three minutes. The interludes tie it together like pirate radio, giving the brawnier cuts a nervy frame.
This edition opens up the space so the clatter breathes, and the low end sits deeper without smudging the guitars. Cymbals decay cleanly, which helps those choppy rhythms feel purposeful rather than frantic. File it near Broken Social Scene, only leaner and more punk collage than widescreen swell. Suits a late tram home.

Arts & Crafts fans will clock the familiar communal spirit, but Whiteman keeps the focus on movement and surprise. Eazy Speaks and Xers of the World say plenty about the album’s economy: ideas arrive fast, hang around just long enough, and make space for the next left turn. A sharp, slightly unruly LP that rewards repeat plays for the details hiding between the edits. Available to buy online with quick delivery Australia wide, or pick it up in our Melbourne record store.
