Released in 2017, this album marks a significant point in the band's discography, highlighting their growth and evolution as musicians. The Murlocs, hailing from Melbourne, Australia, have carved out a niche for themselves with their raw sound and charismatic performances, and "Old Locomotive" is a testament to their artistic prowess.

One of the standout features of "Old Locomotive" is its ability to capture the essence of classic rock while infusing it with a modern twist. The album opens with the title track "Old Locomotive," which sets the tone with its driving rhythm and gritty vocals. Ambrose Kenny-Smith, the band's frontman, delivers a powerful performance throughout the album, his distinctive voice adding a layer of authenticity and emotion to each track.

The album is filled with standout tracks that demonstrate The Murlocs' versatility and creativity. "Noble Soldier" is a prime example, with its catchy hooks and infectious energy. Critically, "Old Locomotive" was well-received, with many reviewers praising the band's ability to capture the spirit of classic rock while maintaining a contemporary edge. The album's production, handled by the band themselves, was noted for its raw and unpolished quality, which adds to the overall charm and authenticity of the record. The Murlocs have been compared to other Australian acts like King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, with whom they share members, but they have managed to establish their own identity and sound.

In terms of cultural significance, "Old Locomotive" contributes to the rich tapestry of the Australian music scene, which has been known for producing innovative and genre-defying artists.
