Description
Cut at the band’s Bathouse with producer Gavin Brown, The Tragically Hip’s Now For Plan A catches the group lean and wired in 2012. At Transformation snaps to attention with a dry snare and Rob Baker’s guitar scraping into focus. Streets Ahead goes for a brisk, radio-bright hook, while Goodnight Attawapiskat closes like a dispatch, pointed and unflinching. This LP pressing opens up the space around the guitars and vocals, and the low end sits deeper without smothering Johnny Fay’s kick. In a Melbourne living room it plays loud yet un-fatiguing. Gord Downie pivots from clipped asides to open-throated relief, so the words land hard. Arrangements stay lean, trusting pulse and melody over polish. File it next to late-era R.E.M., where literate alt rock still swings. If you’d rather order online, you can buy The Tragically Hip records online with us. Fans who bounced off the denser We Are The Same will find this one sharper, tighter, and more immediate. Sequencing rewards a full side, with momentum and breath in the right places. Shop online or dig for it in our Preston store while stock lasts.
