Description
The clipped snare on Breaking Glass still startles, a tiny shock that hints at how boldly David Bowie rethought pop on Low. Recorded with Tony Visconti and Brian Eno, David Bowie - Low (LP) is a 1977 pivot that splits bright, compact songs from drifting instrumentals. Sound and Vision sends its chorus late, all glassy synths and wordless hooks. Flip it and Warszawa hovers like fog above a silent city; it’s patient, beautiful, and strangely tender.
This LP pressing gives the music room to breathe. Imaging snaps into focus and the low end sits deeper, so those machine-precise drums and synth beds feel grounded rather than brittle. If you’d rather order online, you can buy David Bowie records online with us.
On your shelf it belongs next to Iggy Pop’s The Idiot, not just for the shared era but for the same steel-and-soul mood. Bowie’s voice is economical here, but every gesture counts, and the instrumentals feel less like detours than the other half of the argument. Put it on for a late drive or a focused Sunday listen; it rewards both.
