Elvis - Elvis Back In Nashville 2xLP Vinyl Record
"Elvis Back In Nashville" is an album by Elvis, originally released in 2021. Elvis Presley may be the single most important figure in 20th-century popular music. Not necessarily the best, and certainly not the most consistent, but no one could argue with the fact that he was the musician most responsible for popularizing rock & roll on an international level.
"Elvis Back In Nashville" is one of Elvis' best albums to date, containing many fan favourite songs such as "Seeing Is Believing " and "I'll Take You Home Again Kathleen." This album is a must have for any fan of the Ballad scene.
Pressed on Classic Black Vinyl.
"Elvis Back In Nashville" is a fascinating dive into the King of Rock and Roll's 1971 recording sessions, released on November 12, 2021. This album is a follow-up to the 2020 release "From Elvis in Nashville," and it offers fans a closer look at Elvis Presley's work during a prolific period in his career. The album is a collection of tracks that were recorded in Nashville, Tennessee, at RCA Studio B, a place that holds a special place in music history as a recording home for many legendary artists.
The sessions captured in "Elvis Back In Nashville" were initially intended to produce material for a variety of projects, including singles, albums, and even a Christmas album. What makes this release particularly intriguing is that it presents these recordings in their raw, undubbed form. This means listeners get to experience Elvis's voice and the musicianship of his band without the additional layers of orchestration and overdubs that were often added in post-production.
One of the standout aspects of this album is the sheer versatility of Elvis's performances. The collection spans a wide range of genres, showcasing his ability to move effortlessly between rock, gospel, country, and pop. Tracks like "I'm Leavin'" and "It's Only Love" highlight his emotional depth and vocal prowess, while songs such as "Merry Christmas Baby" bring a soulful, bluesy vibe that is both refreshing and timeless.
Critically, "Elvis Back In Nashville" has been well-received, with many reviewers praising the album for its authenticity and the insight it provides into Elvis's creative process. Rolling Stone noted the album's ability to capture the "intimacy and immediacy" of the sessions, while other publications have highlighted the quality of the remastering work, which brings a new clarity to these decades-old recordings.
The musicians who played alongside Elvis during these sessions were some of the best in the business, including guitarist James Burton, pianist David Briggs, and drummer Jerry Carrigan. Their contributions are integral to the sound of the album, and the stripped-down nature of these recordings allows their talents to shine through. It's a testament to the chemistry and skill of these musicians that the tracks feel so vibrant and alive, even without the embellishments that were often added later.
From a historical perspective, "Elvis Back In Nashville" offers a snapshot of a pivotal time in Elvis's career. The early 1970s were a period of transition for him, as he was moving away from the movie soundtracks that had dominated much of the 1960s and returning to live performances and more personal musical projects. This album captures that shift, providing a glimpse into the artistic journey of one of music's most iconic figures.
For fans of Elvis Presley, "Elvis Back In Nashville" is a treasure trove of material that not only celebrates his legacy but also offers new insights into his artistry. It's a reminder of why Elvis remains a beloved figure in music history, and it serves as a testament to his enduring influence on artists across genres. Whether you're a lifelong fan or a newcomer to his music, this album is a must-listen, offering a raw and unfiltered look at the King at work.
