Description
The little shuffle in the snare just before the fiddle and whistle burst on Border Reiver lands with a grin here. Across nine records, The Studio Albums 2009-2018 gathers Get Lucky, the three-LP Privateering, Tracker, and Down the Road Wherever with room to breathe. Knopfler’s late-period storytelling is supple and warm, from Redbud Tree’s hushed ache to Beryl’s wiry bite and the rolling swagger of Good On You Son. He leans into Celtic colours and back-porch swing without losing that effortless economy. This pressing opens up the space and sharpens imaging, so small percussion and low strings sit where they should while his fingerstyle stays front and center. Privateering especially feels unhurried, the acoustic cuts no longer crowded. File it next to your Dire Straits classics for the lineage, but expect subtler tempos and more wood-and-wire textures. If you’d rather order online, you can buy Mark Knopfler records online with us. A good pick for a quiet Melbourne evening, or an early-morning tidy when you want stories rather than fireworks. Nicely built for new listeners yet detailed enough for lifers. Side splits are considerate, so long songs never feel clipped.
Perfect for anyone building a record collection, buy online or in store today.
