Description

The left‑hand piano thump before the final chorus of Nineteen Hundred and Eighty‑Five hits harder here, a little studio wink that tells you how alive this 1974 session really was. Paul McCartney & Wings’ One Hand Clapping finally gets a proper release, drawn from the Abbey Road film where the then‑new lineup ran through Band on the Run‑era highlights and more. Let Me Roll It carries a ragged guitar edge that suits the room sound, while Maybe I’m Amazed comes off raw and unforced, Paul leaning into the vowels rather than polishing them out.

Cut across 2LP at 45RPM with a bonus 7", this pressing opens up the space and gives transients some bite, so you can place each voice and tambourine quickly. If you’d rather order online, you can buy Paul McCartney & Wings records online through our site. It belongs on the shelf next to The Beatles’ Get Back‑era documents for the candid, in‑room energy, but the swing and confidence are very much Wings in their prime.

Fans who know the bootlegs will appreciate how coherent this feels as an album; newcomers get a crisp snapshot of mid‑70s McCartney shifting from meticulous studio craft to band-in-a-room muscle. The art is handsome, and the sequencing does the film’s arc justice without fuss.

Order online now or swing past our Preston shop to pick it up.
