Description
The small inhale before the second chorus of Face It Alone says a lot: Freddie in the room, late-’80s weary and luminous. Queen’s Face It Alone arrives here as a 7-inch 45RPM single, pulled from The Miracle sessions with David Richards in 1988. Brian May lets a singing sustain bloom over Roger Taylor’s toms, while John Deacon keeps it to a heartbeat pulse. At 45, the transients pop and the low end sits deeper, giving Freddie’s multitracked chorus extra lift. File it next to late-era Queen, The Miracle and Innuendo, rather than the early pomp.
Spun here in Melbourne, it’s the kind of late-night play that stops a room. You’ll hear that Miracle-era warmth without the gloss getting in the way. Collectors will appreciate how the arrangement breathes; even the guitar harmonies feel newly separated. If you’d rather order online, you can buy Queen records online with us. This isn’t a curio so much as a missing chapter finally slotted in, and it carries the quiet bite of a band finding gravity in space and patience.
It’s a moving snapshot of a band looking inward, and a reminder of how much colour they could draw from restraint. For anyone who prizes the reflective edge of Queen as much as their big-stage roar, this 7-inch earns its place.
