Description
When Merry Clayton’s voice splinters on Gimme Shelter, you can feel the room widen on this 50th Anniversary set. The Rolling Stones’ Let It Bleed arrives here as a 2LP + 2 SACD + 7-inch edition, catching the band in transition under Jimmy Miller, with Brian Jones fading out and Mick Taylor newly onboard. Midnight Rambler crawls with a nasty swing, while You Got the Silver gives Keith his first full lead vocal, tender and a little ragged in the right way.
This mastering opens out the space and the low end sits deeper, so Bill Wyman’s bass and Charlie’s kick land with more body, and the imaging snaps into place around that tense acoustic-and-electric blend. The 7-inch recreates the era-defining single Honky Tonk Women backed with You Can’t Always Get What You Want, a neat bridge to the album’s choir-topped closer.
If you’d rather order online, you can buy The Rolling Stones records online with us. Filed next to The Band’s late-60s roots-rock, it tells a grittier, more urban story, but the country-blues bones are the same. Spin it late and let the choir and marimbas breathe; this cut rewards a quiet room and a patient ear. Package-wise, it’s a handsome, weighty set that feels built to keep.
