Description

Rose Tattoo's "Blood Brothers" is a hard-hitting rock album that showcases the band's signature sound and uncompromising attitude. Released in 2007, this album marks the band's return after a long hiatus, and it proves that they haven't lost any of their edge.

From the opening track, "Black Eyed Bruiser," it's clear that Rose Tattoo means business. The gritty guitar riffs and powerful vocals of frontman Angry Anderson set the tone for the entire album. The band's bluesy influences are evident throughout, adding depth and soul to their hard rock sound.

One of the standout tracks on "Blood Brothers" is "Once in a Lifetime." This song perfectly captures the band's ability to write catchy, anthemic tunes while still maintaining their raw energy. The chorus is infectious, and the guitar solos are blistering, showcasing the band's exceptional musicianship.

Another highlight of the album is the track "Sweet Meat." This song is a perfect example of Rose Tattoo's ability to write hard-hitting, no-nonsense rock songs. The lyrics are gritty and confrontational, and the driving rhythm section provides a solid foundation for the blistering guitar work.

Throughout the album, Rose Tattoo's lyrics touch on themes of rebellion, resilience, and the struggles of everyday life. Songs like "Man About Town" and "Standover Man" showcase the band's ability to tell stories through their music, painting vivid pictures of characters and situations.

One of the strengths of "Blood Brothers" is the band's ability to create a sense of urgency and intensity. The production is raw and unpolished, giving the album a live and energetic feel. This approach perfectly complements the band's no-frills style and adds to the overall authenticity of the record.

While "Blood Brothers" is a solid album, it does have a few moments that feel slightly repetitive. Some tracks, such as "Nothing to Lose" and "City Blues," don't quite reach the same level of excitement as the standout songs on the album. However, these moments are few and far between, and the overall quality of the album remains high.

Rose Tattoo's "Blood Brothers" is a testament to the band's enduring legacy in the world of rock music. It's a powerful and unapologetic album that showcases their unique sound and uncompromising attitude. While it may not break new ground or reinvent the genre, it serves as a reminder of the band's importance and influence.

For fans of classic hard rock and blues-infused music, "Blood Brothers" is a must-listen. It's an album that demands to be played loud, with its infectious energy and memorable hooks. Rose Tattoo's return to the music scene with this album proves that they are still a force to be reckoned with.

In conclusion, Rose Tattoo's "Blood Brothers" is a solid rock album that delivers on its promises. With its gritty sound, powerful vocals, and memorable songs, it's a testament to the band's enduring legacy. While it may not be groundbreaking, it's a must-listen for fans of the genre and a welcome return for Rose Tattoo.
