Description
The way the double-kick snaps under Body Parts’ main riff tells you Sodom are in their most vicious mood. Sodom’s Tapping The Vein finds the German stalwarts pushing their thrash into a grimmer, death-metal tilt, with Tom Angelripper’s bark sandblasted and the guitars serrated. Originally from 1992, it’s the bruiser in their early-90s run, all speed, stomp, and bleak hooks. If you’d rather order online, you can buy Sodom records online with us. This red/black swirl LP does the album favours, letting the low end sit deeper and giving the mix more space. Cymbals decay cleanly, so the blastier passages stay sharp instead of smeared. Spin it loud and you catch the nasty pick attack in those tremolo runs and the kick-drum patterns punching holes in the room. Body Parts hits even harder here, the tom fills barking between riffs and the bass gnashing underneath. File it next to early-90s Kreator, but expect a heavier, more guttural hit. For diehards, it’s also a neat snapshot of the short-lived early-90s lineup, lean and mean. The package looks the part too, with that red/black swirl suiting the blood-and-iron vibe. Grab it online now or drop in to our Melbourne shop and take it home today.
