Description
Produced by Bruce Fairbairn, Van Halen’s Balance captures the band midway between arena heft and radio shine. The Seventh Seal opens with monk-like chants before Alex’s toms thump underneath Eddie’s saturated riff, a great reminder they could still snarl. Don’t Tell Me (What Love Can Do) pushes harder, with Hagar spitting and a grinding guitar figure that hits even tougher here. This 2LP pressing gives the music more space and the low end sits deeper, so kicks and bass lock in without crowding the mids. Back in Melbourne, it’s the kind of record that suits a late drive when you want weight without fuss. If you’d rather order online, you can buy Van Halen records online with us. On your shelf it sits neatly beside Aerosmith’s early 90s era, sharing Fairbairn’s polish but leaning into tougher riffs and Eddie’s restless melody sense. Feelin’ closes things out with a slow-burn build that pays off in the last minute, proving this lineup could still go for the throat. For fans of the Hagar run, Balance is the grittier sibling to 5150 and OU812, and this edition finally lets it breathe. Buy online now with fast shipping across Australia, or pick it up in our Preston record store.
