Description
Saturday tidy that turns into a living-room singalong. Put on Bush’s Sixteen Stone (2LP, Red Opaque Apple Vinyl) and Machinehead’s opening riff takes care of morale, the chorus hitting hard without smearing. This is the band’s 1994 debut, where Gavin Rossdale, Nigel Pulsford, Dave Parsons, and Robin Goodridge shape UK alt-rock into radio-sized hooks. Everything Zen still snarls, and Comedown builds from a patient verse into that huge, skyward refrain.
The expanded 2LP cut gives the guitars and vocals breathing room; low end sits deeper so the kick and bass throb rather than blur. Glycerine’s stark arrangement benefits most, with the voice sitting clear against the strings and clean guitar.
File it next to Nirvana, though Bush lean a touch sleeker and more melodic, less ragged at the edges. If you’d rather order online, you can buy Bush records online with us. Red opaque finish also looks the part on a wall or next to your 90s staples.
Fans rediscover the punch here, and newcomers get why these songs powered so many car stereos. As shop staff we’ve spun this pressing a lot and it holds up at volume.
Add it to your collection today, available online or in our Melbourne record store.
