Description
The sly octave slide John Taylor sneaks in before the second chorus of What Happens Tomorrow still lands like a secret handshake. Duran Duran’s Astronaut finds the classic five back together, folding their 80s DNA into 2004’s sleek pop architecture without sanding off the bite. Reach Up for the Sunrise lifts cleanly, and the clipped guitar on Nice snaps against Nick Rhodes’ glassy synths. Closer Still Breathing blooms in a way longtime fans will clock instantly.
This 45RPM 2LP milky clear edition opens the mix up; space around the vocals and synth pads is noticeably wider, and imaging locks instruments in place with more confidence. The format gives Roger’s hi-hats extra sparkle while keeping the choruses tidy, so the big moments don’t smear.
File it next to later-era New Order, but expect more satin sheen and that unmistakable Le Bon melodic tilt. Played at a sensible volume, it’s a surprisingly great late-night Melbourne drive record.

Packaging is handsome, the milky clear set suiting the album’s cool, chrome palette. For a reunion-era LP, it feels purposeful rather than nostalgic, and these cuts reward proper speakers as much as headphones. Fans who skipped it first time around may be quietly impressed. Order online now or swing past our Preston shop to pick it up.
