Description
Red bulbs, chrome poles, and a mirror ball spinning at 3am.
Eli Roth’s Red Light Disco - Dancefloor Seductions From Italian Sexploitation Cinema (1969–1981) is a 2LP deep dive into the sleaze-chic corner of Italian soundtrack culture, sequenced with a director’s ear for mood. Curator credit aside, the real stars are the session killers and composers who lace breathy wordless vocals over clavinet-and-wah grooves, then slip a ricocheting conga break in just when you think it’s all satin and smoke. It’s surprisingly playable at a small Melbourne gathering, where mid-tempo struts and sultry cues keep the room moving without shouting.
This pressing opens the room up; low end sits deeper and imaging is wider, so those muted trumpets and electric pianos occupy their own little late-night booths. You’ll hear the erotica-era Italy of 1969–81 as a living, breathing dancefloor language rather than a crate-digger curiosity. File it next to Goblin, only with more velvet, less graveyard.
If you’d rather order online, you can buy Eli Roth's Red Light Disco - Dancefloor Seductions From Italian Sexploitation Cinema (1969-1981) records online with us. Artwork is faithfully reproduced across the gatefold, which suits the louche cinema DNA.
It belongs on the shelf of anyone who loves Euro soundtrack funk, lounge-disco crossovers, and the sly groove of the Emanuelle moment, even if you’re just cleaning up on a Saturday with the volume down low. Buy Eli Roth records online today or visit us in Preston to grab a copy.
