The album was recorded during a live performance in Wagga Wagga, a regional city in New South Wales, Australia. This setting is significant as it reflects Slim Dusty’s commitment to bringing his music to rural and regional areas, a theme that runs throughout his career. Known for his extensive touring, Slim Dusty often performed in small towns and outback locations, earning him the nickname "The Man Who Is Australia."
"Live At Wagga Wagga" features a collection of songs that highlight Slim Dusty’s signature style, blending traditional country sounds with uniquely Australian themes. These songs are delivered with the warmth and authenticity that Slim Dusty was known for, making the listener feel as though they are part of the live audience.
One of the standout aspects of this album is the way it captures the atmosphere of a live Slim Dusty show.
