Karen Knowles, known for her enchanting vocals and captivating stage presence, crafts an intimate experience with this album, which reflects her artistic evolution and her ability to connect with audiences through music.
The album starts off on a strong note with "You are the Reason," a heartfelt ballad that sets the tone for the record. Karen's emotive vocals shine through, drawing listeners into the narrative of love and longing. The instrumentation is delicate yet impactful, complementing the mood of the song.
"Say it Isn't So," another standout track, is a poignant exploration of heartbreak and disbelief. The melancholic melody is beautifully juxtaposed with Karen's clear and comforting voice, creating an emotional resonance that lingers long after the song has ended.
The title track, "The Third Time," delves into themes of perseverance and hope. The lyrics speak of resilience and finding strength in adversity, making it an inspiring addition to the album. Karen's delivery is sincere and uplifting, resonating with listeners who may find solace in the message.
"By the Time the Sun Goes Down," is a gently paced song that provides a serene and contemplative atmosphere. The subtle instrumentation and Karen's serene vocals create a calming ambiance, inviting listeners to take a moment of pause and reflection.
"Laugh it Off," takes a slightly more upbeat approach, introducing a playful rhythm and a catchy chorus. It's a refreshing deviation that adds a touch of lightness and optimism to the album.

Throughout "The Third Time," Karen Knowles demonstrates her vocal versatility and emotional depth. Her voice is a soothing presence, capable of conveying a wide range of emotions, from joy to sorrow, with authenticity and grace. The production on the album is tastefully done, never overwhelming the vocals but rather enhancing the overall listening experience.
Critics might argue that the album leans towards being safe and doesn't venture far from the established norms of the adult contemporary genre. While the songs are undoubtedly well-executed, some might yearn for more adventurous and experimental elements.
However, "The Third Time" excels in delivering what it sets out to do — provide a comforting and enjoyable listening experience. It's an album that fans of easy listening and classic pop melodies would appreciate for its warmth, simplicity, and sincerity.
In conclusion, "The Third Time" is a testament to Karen Knowles' artistic maturity and her ability to craft songs that resonate on a deeply personal level.
