Description
The piano in Pyramid Song seems to wobble in time, then Phil Selway’s brushed cymbals bloom and the room suddenly feels bigger. Amnesiac finds Radiohead re-threading the Kid A experiments into something more haunted and physical. On I Might Be Wrong the wiry riff bites while the bass grinds underneath; Like Spinning Plates flips into a glassy reverse-piano hallucination; Life in a Glasshouse brings Humphrey Lyttelton’s brass in to close the door with a wry grin. This 2LP 45RPM cut gives the music breathing room, so space opens up around Thom’s vocal and the low end sits deeper. You can hear how Nigel Godrich stages each layer without crowding the edges. If you’d rather order online, you can buy Radiohead records online with us. File it next to Talk Talk’s late-era mood pieces, but the rhythmic thrum and Yorke’s cracked falsetto keep it rooted in Radiohead’s own language. We like it for late trains when the city lights turn into a soft smear. Standouts change with the weather, though Pyramid Song and You and Whose Army capture both the chill and the warmth this record hides. Available to buy online with quick delivery Australia wide, or pick it up in our Melbourne record store.
